We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Aerospace Engineer located at Fort Eustis VA
Essential Duties:
The Aerospace Engineer will provide specialized program management engineering support services to our customer in the execution of specific technical mission areas. This role supports air worthiness and safety for related aviation activities supported at Fort Eustis VA and focuses on a portfolio of aircraft that the Army operates supporting safety related projects.
Responsibilities:
Deliver program management and higher levels tasks such as safety and air worthiness consultation for fielding and installation requirements while coordinating and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Recommend plan draft track finalize and distribute documentation such as Army change notices Army repair/replace reports air worthiness substantiation findings document and air worthiness releases in accordance with DOD standards and guidelines.
Calculate helicopter performance based on test published extrapolated or estimated data. Evaluate data for inclusion in helicopter user manuals.
Work collaboratively with Program Manager Government Crewmembers TAPO SOMPE and affiliated contractors to integrate the performance data into Mission Planning software and the Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS).
Serve as the Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead for challenges on flight test efforts and convene teams of stakeholders and experts in the areas required.
Use Matlab to analyze results from flight tests to identify problems and assist in developing solutions.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the following:
Program management and executive briefing experience
Helicopter performance theory performance models and performance flight test data
Helicopter mission planning tools for calculating performance and mission planning parameters
Helicopter mechanical operation and flight critical subsystems
Helicopter operations and use of operator manuals weight and balance calculations
Documentation of helicopter airworthiness
Preparing technical reports flight test plans technical findings and airworthiness substantiation documents
Familiarity with Matlab
Preferred Qualifications:
Detail-oriented individual with excellent leadership and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills with a strong knowledge of technical functional disciplines
Strong leadership skills and Airworthiness knowledge and experience in complex domestic programs
Education: Bachelors degree in aeronautics mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited engineering college.
Required Clearance: Secret with Ability to Obtain Top Secret
