As a Supervisor in the Piney Flats Avionics area you will be responsible for a team of employees who are passionate about the safety quality and overall delivery process of aircraft to our customers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibilities of this position include the following: Ensure employees are properly trained on all job duties Train and monitor personnel to ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines to include Repair Station procedures FOD controls the use of appropriate technical data and proper maintenance practices Audit the work performed to ensure it conforms to applicable regulations and procedures Oversee and ensure aircraft requiring teardown are completed efficiently and correctly Oversee maintenance and repairs to ensure they are done correctly and safely Prior to returning aircraft to service or closing related work orders ensure work order book is fully complete and to include all required signoffs Oversee upkeep of shop equipment and tools and cleanliness of workstations Offer technical guidance to other departments inside of Bell as needed Assign personnel resources to tasks to ensure work is executed to schedule Supervise lead and direct the work of shop floor personnel Collaborate with other supervisors to share personnel resources and to ensure aircraft work is completed safety compliantly and on schedule Guide aircraft troubleshooting for team and/or customers as required by offering subject matter expertise Enable direct reports to do the work by monitoring coaching acquiring resources problem solving communicating and empowering employees to take initiative Work closely with Logistics and Procurement to ensure parts required for work operations are ordered and scheduled to meet necessary timelines Ensure quoted hours and schedule are met Maintain open communication with CEM and other internal parties concerning project status When needed arrange for assistance from other departments and/or outside vendors on component repairs Performance management and development of direct reports Recognize and reward employees contributions and provide constructive feedback to improve their performance Conduct or assist with interviews performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as required Understand capabilities and career aspirations of direct reports in order to plan for and guide their development May directly assist the customer on some emergent issues Reflect and promote Bell/Textron values and behaviors and Piney Flats High Performance Team Culture Values MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required Position Requirements: 5+ years as an active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic 2-3 years experience on Bell aircraft 1+ years leadership role experience (experience leading projects may be considered in lieu of a formal role) Skills/Certifications: Safety conscience promote a safety-first environment. Ability to supervise and teach others Familiarity with customer expectations Bell policies and business practices and its highly customer satisfaction oriented Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated Basic computer skills Ability to read interpret and understand maintenance manuals and FAA regulations renderings paint technical data and safety data sheets PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor level degree preferred WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally Ability to sit/stand/kneel/crawl consistently on and around large aircraft Ability to stand for long periods of time up to 10 hours a day The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job.
