Summary About the Position: This position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command Aviation Support Facility (ASF) Carson West located in Fort Carson Colorado. Responsibilities Army H-60 instructor pilot Qualified Train personnel in methods techniques and procedures of unit level flight instruction. Establish work schedules and priorities for subordinates based on workload. Plan develop and direct the flight operations and training activities for the Aviation Support Facility (ASF). Coordinate with Aviation Support Facility (ASF) staff to ensure the availability of mission capable aircraft to support the mission. Establish and evaluate performance standards for employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Helicopter Flight Instructor: Possession of the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates and/or military rating meeting the applicable flight hour requirements and possession of the knowledge and skills required for the position. Flight hour information MUST in the body of the resume. Your application packet MUST include a copy of certificates/military ratings. Flight hour requirements: Total flight time – 1500 hours; Pilot in Command – 250 hours; Night flying – 75 hours; Flying Time Last 12 months – 100 hours; Instructor time – 500 hours (Helicopter Flight Instructor). Please review the OPM qualification standard for specific flight requirements: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: piloting or co-piloting rotary wing aircraft; ground and flight instruction; in-flight evaluation; planning analyzing or administering agency aviation programs where the work requires primarily the application of helicopter pilot knowledge and skills. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program Administration Leadership Management Tools Program Management Teaching Others Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. One year supervisory probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
